Wine Country Resort: Packing Essentials

Planning your first trip to a wine country bed and breakfast in Napa Valley? You’re probably beside yourself with excitement, but you might also be a little confused with what to pack. After all, it’s difficult to plan for a trip to a place that you’ve never visited before. That’s why I’ve checked with some of the leading stylists and travel experts and pulled from my own experiences with wine country travels to compile a list of tips and guidelines to help you manage your packing list. No more worrying about what shoes to pack and whether or not you should pack that adorable fedora you never wear…ever.

My area of choice for travel is Livermore, CA. It’s charming and has a lot of walkability so it gives me a lot of options and chances to catch my breath and take in the exquisite scenery. Not to mention the super star vino that’s all around. I’m constantly taking notes on my IPhone and taking photos of wine bottles. I like to give wine as gifts and it’s good to have a way to remember which ones I enjoyed the most. Pictures on your smart phone are good for making your friends jealous on facebook and instagram too, but I would never be that evil…hee hee. If you’re really feeling whimsical I highly recommend The Purple Orchid Inn & Spa. I recently saw it featured on a television show and booked my reservation on a whim. I’m so glad I did, it was unforgettable and I’ve been back several times.

What to pack?

When it comes to luggage I pack my carry-on with practical products that make me look and feel fantastic throughout my wine filled weekend. Pita chips, roasted chickpeas, multi-use lotion, and mini nail polish in case of untimely chips. There’s always something stylish in my bag too. I like to pack pieces that can go from sunny day to sexy night. A sleek leather jacket or leather blazer with interesting lines and a sparkly midlength multi chain necklace jazz up black skinny jeans and a grey v-neck in an inventive and unexpected way that has an East coast vibe. I love a little bit of the stylishly unexpected for weekend getaways. The jacket and necklace work well with a dress too, add heels and et voila! An evening outfit that will make the boys drool. You should always remember, heels make everything sexy.
